9-miler------Start at parking lot off Main St.go left following RED trail
5K---Start out same way as the 9-miler, BUT after the rock knoll ,at intersection of red and white, You will take a right on WHITE trail and continue the same directions as the 9-miler from there..
at fork bear right over dam and to the rock knoll to intersection of red and white trail
(AT THIS POINT 5K RUNNERS WILL BE TAKING A RIGHT ONTO WHITE TRAIL)
Go straight up RED trail (fondly known as "E-Wok City) continue to road.
Go up road - (Not down) and at bend go over guard rail and continue down RED trail
Follow RED trail to the left and down rocky river bed to road and 1st WATER STOP
Straight over road and continue following RED trail
Take a left on 2nd RED/WHITE diamond trail to the sand pit
Veer to right-then straight picking up the BLUE--BLUE/YELLOW trail markers,
You will see housing projects and river to your left
At fork, go right up BLUE/YELLOW trail (you will be starting the climb up Big Bertha to the summit)
At top you will take a RIGHT and stay on the now BLUE trail along the ridge line all the way throught the stone wall to the Summit --2nd WATER STOP and the point of the KING AND QUEEN OF THE ROCK
Continue on hugging the stone wall to the right all the way around the summit, then down the paved road 'til the road forks
veer left on road to 3 JUDGES CAVE
pass the cave and pick up GREEN trail; toward the end is a steep very rocky bed (BE CAREFUL) back to the intersection of RED trail.
Take sharp left up and over guard rail again
(Yes, you came out this way) and back down road to pick-up RED trail and pass back over E-Wok City)
At intersection take hard left onto WHITE trail (you will be on the other side of lake)
(THE 5K and 9-miler FOLLOWS THE SAME COURSE FROM HERE ON IN)
Follow back side of lake to 3rd WATER STOP (FIRST AND ONLY WATER STOP FOR THE 5K)
continue straight on WHITE trail
take a left onto PURPLE/WHITE trail
take a right onto PURPLE trail back to WHITE trail
take left on WHITE trail and continue all the way to the end where it intersects with the Red trail
take a right on the RED trail and continue back to the lake and finish line.
This section is going to feel very long to you.
